Spunky, a lot of the problems the YEC group in general has is in trying to smash all the strata and just about all the fossils into one year, during the Flood.
Geologically, this is bizarre, and there really is no other way to put it. There is too much geological evidence of three major catastrophes, not just one, and of time in between them.
So, if Noah's Flood is true, where is the evidence?
Under the Cambrian strata there are two interesting layers which attest to the Flood of Noah. They are all over the world. "The Flood catastrophe corresponds to the 300 metre thick debris layer that is topped by 2.5 km thick deep water sediments that are carbon rich and are capped by limestones and are found world-wide. Geologists today call it the snowball earth strata. I have challenged this interpretation on my website, here: http://www.setterfield.org/snowballearth.htm" (from a personal letter by Barry Setterfield to some other scientists in an email group)
Please check the article linked. It has some neat pictures....grin.
