I would suggest you talk to married ex-gay,
To quote a poster from another board: "I hope he has a nice life of repressed homosexuality."
celibate ex-gays
Thats nice. "You're not allowed to fall in love. Its eeevil."
and those who minister the ex-gay message with love and compassion before you post idiotic untruths like the above.
Love and compassion would to be accepting
Giving up any life dominating sin is not easy, ask any alcoholic (which according to medical science is not a chosen behavior).
Alchoholics can be a danger to those around them (drunk driving, ect). Gays are not.
No ethical fundamental Christian who is a liscensed counselor is going to tell any child that he is going to hell or die an early death for being actively gay.
Thats what some of the posts on this site have said. Thats what a lot of Christians say (though, to their credit, they say it nicer, like "Your salvation is in danger if you do not repent!")
The counselor will help the child understand why he has the desires.
Yes, because like a minority of people he is different. And like any minority, people will hate him from being different.
And then if the child decides to seek help in overcoming the desires will procede on that path.
And if he doesnt he'll go to Hell, right? (even if the therapist doesnt say it, he thinks it. that, or he's not a fundamentalist)
