Archiveda literal hell? i found this article interestingThere are just as many misguided people as there are teachings found outside of the bible. The scripture may be clear about the judgment idea, and with this I totally agree. But the idea that you have of hell that you are trying to establish as The Truth is just your own truth, commonly referred to as 'opinion'. When I stated a personal opinion, I stated as much at the same time. You haven't proven anything except the degree of attachment you have to your opinions, and an unwillingness to let any possibility or challenge enter in to your cemented beliefs. Holding so tightly onto unfounded ideas reveal the true lack of conviction behind those ideas. It's called fear, not faith, and that's not the Way. Will you be like the blind man leading another blind man, falling into the first pit due to your own pride? I can't see any reason for your refusal to accept anyone's points or even suggestions as viable that can be attributed to anything but personal issues. Are you here to be a witness to others, or to expand your own understanding of God on a personal level by engaging in logical debates? Or are you here to assert that you are right and everyone who doesn't adopt your conceptual ideas of God is wrong and destined for eternal torment? Who said we were debating semantics? I doubt that would be a fair match, in any case. Semantics are of little value until one has a point to make, with supporting evidence. So should I understand you to be saying it's a concern for you personally? Maybe that's the key to this whole exchange, because unless I'm grossly mistaken, that description fits you quite well, from what I've read of your posts on this forum. I guess the whole basis is not the heat and charring effects of the eternal fire, but the eternal satisfaction of being 'right.' Other than that, I just don't understand. |
