Archivedstatus of women in biblePeace fatah, Yes, it's very important to understand your religion and be able to defend it. Hindus are pagan in every way, and their treatment of women is appalling. Say fatah, you told me you knew the Parsee people when you were young, how do they treat their women? Yes, that is why God have us the Living Word, Christ. See how the Christian doctrine is capble of sustaining major changes like women's rights and equality. Now Christ treated women better than anyone else, even Muhammed. Christ never took a wife, He looked at women much deeper than any of us. He showed atonishing love and compassion to even a wicked adulteress. Maybe you could start another thread or evcen explain this here, but how can you prove the Quran is a divine revelation from God? It is in direct opposition of the Gospel which is the exact-to-the-word fulfillment of prophecies that Christ fulfilled. Yes, Scriptures says the Son of Man would suffer for our sins and would be the Lord. This is quite complex and off subject, my apologies. Understand that it would be a fatal mistake to say the Quran is from God because it has analomies that seem consistent with science. Never forget that Satan has vast knowledge of the universe and science, and the human body. Satan is more powerful and cunning of a being than you could imagine. Or this verse just means that Allah created the heavens and earth out of one darkness, one state of existence. This would be consistent with the Biblical account. Let me ask you, did the early Muslims believe the earth orbited the sun? This passage reminds me of Yasna 44. Yasna 44:3-5 3. This I ask Thee, tell me truly, Ahura. Who is by generation the Father of Right, at the first? Who determined the path of sun and stars? Who is it by whom the moon waxes and wanes again? This, O Mazda, and yet more, I am fain to know. 4. This I ask Thee, tell me truly, Ahura. Who upholds the earth beneath and the firmament from falling? Who the waters and the plants? Who yoked swiftness to winds and clouds? Who is, O Mazda, creator of Good Thought? 5. This I ask Thee, tell me truly, Ahura. What artist made light and darkness? What artist made sleep and waking? Who made morning, noon, and night, that call the understanding man to his duty? Who determined the paths of the sun and stars? You think the ancient Persians were aware of oribital patterns? A warning, don't use seemingly scientific things to justify the Quran's divinity. Some women are large and strong, some men are weak and thin. The Lord sees no difference between man or woman. Both will no longer remain male or female in the after life. Gender only exists for procreation and sexual intimacy, God's gift to us. Yes, very interesting that your vision of paradise and women for a rewards of good deeds is just a borrowed belief from Zoroastrianism. 6. O righteous one, according to your will, I shall accomplish to the extent of my power, your worship with good thoughts, good words, and good deeds. I shall open for myself the brilliant way of paradise so that the grievous punishment of hell may not be inflicted on me. I shall pass over the Chinwad bridge and attain to the abode of paradise which is very fragrant, all-embroidered, and of all happiness. Nam Stayishn 6 6. And he who is of the righteous passes over the bridge, and a worldly similitude of the pleasantness of his path upon it is when thou shalt eagerly and unweariedly walk in the golden-colored spring, and with the gallant (hu-chir) body and sweet-scented blossom in the pleasant skin of that maiden spirit, the price of goodness. Dadestan-i Denig ('Religious Decisions') 21:6 http://www.jesus-christ-forums.com/home/viewtopic.php?t=3523 This thread is very interesting. The entire concept of entering heaven based on works is Zoroastrian in origin also. Vendidad 3:42 42. 'In the same way the Religion of Mazda, O Spitama Zarathushtra! cleanses the faithful from every evil thought, word, and deed, as a swift-rushing mighty wind cleanses the plain. 'So let all the deeds he doeth be henceforth good, O Zarathushtra! a full atonement for his sin is effected by means of the Religion of Mazda.' Women in heaven are wel lrewarded according to the Persians. Arda Viraf 13:1-12 1. I also saw the souls of those women of excellent thoughts, of excellent words, of excellent deeds, and submissive to control, who consider their husbands as lords, (2) in clothing embroidered with gold and silver, and set with jewels. (3) And I asked thus: 'Which souls are these?' 4. And Srosh the pious, and Adar the angel, said (5) thus: 'These are the souls of those women who, in the world, have honored water, and honored fire, and honored earth and trees, cattle and sheep, and all the other good creations of Ohrmazd. (6) And they performed the Yazishn and Dron ceremonies, and the praise and services of God; (7) and they performed the rites and praises of the angels of the heavenly existences, and the angels of the earthly existences; (8) and they practiced acquiescence and conformity, reverence and obedience to their husbands and lords; (9) and they were without doubts on the religion of the Mazdayasnians. (10) They were diligent in doing of good works, (11) and they have been abstainers from sin.' (12) And it seemed to me sublime. See, so much of what you believe is derievd from existent religions in Muhammed's time. You don't think Muhammed knew of the Persian tales and beliefs??? What Allah revealed in the Quran??? Or what Muhammed thought about himself? Nothing here couldn't have been devised by Muhammed, especially when alot of what you believe is Jewish and Zoroastrian. No, Christianity changed things. In early Christian communities, women could even serve as religious leaders, deaconesses. Can women help the imam in Islamic services? No excuse, Christ teaches reaffirmed from Genesis that a man left his family and found a wife, and they two are united as one flesh. Jesus made it known that polygamy and divorce is wrong. I do not see how uyou can follow the Quran which contains teachings that were never from God and say it's from God. People became wicked and were lead astray, and they practiced polygamy and divorce, and Jesus came and corrected these errors. Now Islam regresses from Christianity and the Quran regresses from what Christ taught. You say the Quran is from God and yet it contains many human precepts written by men. There is no excuse for one to beat their wife in any way. Can an unruly husband be striked by his wife? Who shall keep husbands in their line? Jesus never striked a woman or a man, even when He was striked. Jesus Christ reaffirmed what was in Genesis, that a man leaves his parents and finds a wife, and the rwo are united in one flesh. Then Christ says "What God puts together no man can seperate." When you divorce, no not remarry because you will be committing adultery. God recognized one marriage, unless the spouse is being profoundly disgraceful and cheats persistently. Only Moses wrote laws on divorce, it did not come from God. Why are you following the Quran when it contains so many humanistic precepts that never came from God? Why can't you accept the teachings of Jesus Christ and be satisfied? Islam regresses from Christianity, and regression is a tool of Satan to undermine God's revelations. |
