ArchivedVirgin Birth of JesusHi Carol, Dear Carol, my understanding from your post is that you needed to understand the Islamic perspective of the virgin birth of Mary and how we know God. So we answer you with what we have in the Quran and explain it to you. You have all the right to quote the NT to view how you perceive God, I did not deny that. I just wanted you to understand that since you are asking us then you should ask us through what we believe in, the Quran. Muslims can not deny that God can do anything he wants, we simply refuse that Jesus is God because the Quran says so, and many Muslim scholars quote the bible to prove that Jesus is no different from any prophets. I was trying to explain to you how we do it this way, that's all. Most Muslims refer to the OT most of the time because they believe that it does contain the word of God to some degree, and also refer to the Gospels, and to Jesus's words specifically. They don't care what others said about Jesus they care about what Jesus himself said. You missed the context in those verses Carol. Let's read through it again, [10] We inspired Moses and his brother. "Maintain your homes in Egypt for the time being, turn your homes into synagogues, and maintain the Contact Prayers (Salat). Give good news to the believers." [10] Moses said, "Our Lord, you have given Pharaoh and his elders luxuries and wealth in this world. Our Lord, they only use them to repulse others from Your path. Our Lord, wipe out their wealth, and harden their hearts to prevent them from believing, until they see the painful retribution." [10] He said, "Your prayer has been answered (O Moses and Aaron), so be steadfast, and do not follow the ways of those who do not know." [10] We delivered the Children of Israel across the sea. Pharaoh and his troops pursued them, aggressively and sinfully. When drowning became a reality for him, he said, "I believe that there is no god except the One in whom the Children of Israel have believed; I am a submitter." [10] "Too late! For you have rebelled already, and chose to be a transgressor. [10] "Today, we will preserve your body, to set you up as a lesson for future generations." Unfortunately, many people are totally oblivious to our signs. [10] We have endowed the Children of Israel with a position of honor, and blessed them with good provisions. Yet, they disputed when this knowledge came to them. Your Lord will judge them on the Day of Resurrection regarding everything they disputed. [10] If you have any doubt regarding what is revealed to you from your Lord, then ask those who read the previous scripture. Indeed, the truth has come to you from your Lord. Do not be with the doubters. I sincerely thought you were just asking questions. I myself totally understand your views of Jesus (pbuh). Peace be with you and thank you for those wonderfull discussions. They are mature and I enjoy them very much. Peace. |
