arunangelo wrote:Paul did view the cup and bread as the actual body and blood of the Lord because, He had faith in Jesus' words when Jesus took the bread and said" This is my body and took the cup and said ," this is my blood" (Matthew 26: 26-28).
This is sheer Roman Catholic propoganda and a total distortion of the Bible. What Catholicism teaches is cannabalism and drinking and eating the flesh of a living person or do you deny that Jesus was resurrected and is now at the right hand of the Father?
The elements of the Lord's Supper are symbolic as Paul plainly teaches in 1 Corinthians:
1 Corinthians 11:23-26
23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me." 25 In the same way He took the cup also, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes. NAS
Drinking blood is strictly prohibited in Scripture:
Leviticus 3:17
17'It is a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you shall not eat any fat or any blood.' "
NAS
Acts 15:28-29
28 "For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: 29 that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell. " NAS
Transubstantiation is a pagan idolterous practice imported into Catholicism by Greeks who worked tirelessly to remove all Jewish influence from your religion.
