Your interpretation of John 6:51 is taken out of context in an attempt to establish transubstantiation (although you have not used that term).
The elements of the Lord's Supper or Communion do not magically become the real body and blood of Jesus.
Paul tells us (1Cor. 10:16-17): “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
You are correct Paul writes "the cup" not what is in the cup.
1 Corinthians 10:14-17
14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. 15 I speak as to wise men; you judge what I say. 16 Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread which we break a sharing in the body of Christ? 17 Since there is one bread, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one bread. NAS
Vs. 17 is proof Paul did not view the cup and bread as the actual blood and body of the Lord. The Roman Catholic Church has turned the eucharist into an idol with transubstantiation.
