ArchivedCalling all Catholics! For a man who denies the Abrahamic and Davidic Covenant, rejects the Jews as God's chosen people, and uses the fact the Jews rejected the Messiah to call upon Jewish myths to establish a Christian doctrine is ludicrous. We could care less about the false teachings found in the writings of your ECF's. If purgatory was taught by the apostles then quote them not "traditions of men". Not only Catholics believe in this final purification, but the Eastern Orthodox do as well, as do Orthodox Jews. In fact, to this day, when a Jewish person's loved one dies, Jews pray a prayer known as the Mourner's Qaddish for eleven months after the death for the loved one's purification. why would they do this if they dont believe in form of purgatory?[/quote] Why would the Jews reject their own Messiah, reject the sovereignty of God; and then build false teachings after the destruction of the Temple and the sacrifices required for the atonement of sins? The Reformation was God's way of getting His truth out of the hands of arrogant antichrists and out to the world. The Catholic Church has taught heresy and error from day one. You have done nothing but appeal to Rome, twist Biblical truth and dance around every question put to you on every thread dealing with the Catholic Church. The last apostle died when John died. God insured His truth would go forth with the writings found in the OT and from the Apostles. Jesus told the apostles and us that the Holy Spirit would lead us to truth: Paul wrote we are sealed with the Holy Spirit; Jesus said He is in us and in the Father; the Father is in Him; and He is in us and we are in Him. (John 17) I have the truth in God's word and if I need help understanding His truth I have a multitude of true teachers to refer to. You on the other hand have myths and heretical teachings that can be shown to have been imported from pagan religons. The Catholic Church teaches myths and legends as God's truth. |
