Pedigree? Are we discussing breeds of animals or Jesus?
You know Rome, what I find interesting about Catholics is how you avoid semantics or word origins unless it suits you and you ignore them when it defeats you. The name Peter in Greek, the language of the NT is "Petros", not "pertra". So you appeal to his Aramaic name "Kephas".
James and Jude are the Lord's "adelphos" but the RCC claims this actually means they are the Lord's "suggenes". The only key I am concerned with is the key of David, which Jesus, who real name is Yeshua, has. (Rev 3:7)
Ephesians 2:19-22
19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, 20 having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together is growing into a holy temple in the Lord; 22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. NAS
The Catholic Church appeals to Matrhew 16:16 to show Peter is the foundation and then ignores Matthew 18:18 where Jesus gives
all the apostles the same authority.
After Judas committed suicide Peter quoting Psalms calls the Apostles to elect a successor taking Jesus' authority to appoint His choice, which was Paul. This alone shows the real authority of the Church of Jesus Christ rests with Jesus not the Papacy.
There is one Catholic Church and over 32,000 Christian churches. Scripture tells us the believers in Christ were first called Christians in Antioch, but Scripture never calls Jesus' true Church "catholic".
The Welsh Church got the truth from the source, not the middle man. The Welsh Church was not contaminated by the pagan traditions adopted by the Greeks who gained control of a human institution that came to be known as the Catholic Church. The Baptist's can claim as good a pedigree as the Catholic Church using the same method used by the Catholic Church and that is appealing to their own authority. You are being critical of a church that has done the same thing the Catholic Church has done except the Baptists appeal to a pure source and the Catholic Church appeals to contaminated source.
Most of our teachings come from one man, Paul. Paul was not called to be an Apostle by Peter, did not receive his authority from Peter, and in fact caught Peter being a hypocrite in fear of the Jews. So what we have is a foundation of truth that came down to us through Paul directly from the Source the Holy Spirit.
What does the Catholic Church have?
Colossians 2:8-13
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. 9 For in Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; 11 and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; 12 having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. NAS
1 Peter 1:17-21
17 And if you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each man's work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay upon earth; 18 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited (traditions) from your forefathers, 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. 20 For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you 21 who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. NAS
You put your faith and hope in the Catholic Church, we put our faith and hope in God.
Jesus said God's word is truth, the Catholic Church say Jesus did not know what He was talking about and adds the traditions of men in effect calling Jesus a liar.
Jesus said a bad tree produces bad fruit. The fruit of the Catholic Church is idolatry, the Crusades, the Inquisition, and false doctrines.
