Trinity DebateTitus 2: 13Aieno wrote: In another post I said; "God will not glorify any other entity as Deity since he alone is God". That does not obviously exclude Jesus, since Jesus is God. You base your thesis on one verse that says, Jesus was the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God? Okay, I agree, Jesus was the predetermined plan of God. What I do not understand is how you came to the conclusion that the glory that Jesus had was and is God's predetermined plan. You have rejected all the passages of the bible that point to Jesus' divinty and accepted on verse that you have taken out of context and twisted to suit your personal beliefs. Aieno Wrote: "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, [a] Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace". Isaiah 9:6 (NIV) "For a (A)child will be born to us, a (B)son will be given to us; And the (C)government will rest (D)on His shoulders; And His name will be called (E)Wonderful Counselor, (F)Mighty God, Eternal (G)Father, Prince of (H)Peace". Isaiah 9:6 (NASB) "For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace". Isaiah 9:6 (AMP) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 (KJV) "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace". Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV) And this is how all the above translate it. I could infact go on and quote more translations. I wonder, what bible translation agrees with you on Isaiah 9:6? The Jews understand that as we read this verse it immediately becomes evident that we are not dealing with a mere human being here, no wonder they (probably) obfuscate the translation. |
