Trinity DebateTitus 2: 13I keep posting that Paul wrote that for "us" there is but one God and then Paul tells us who that one God is by adding "the Father". This Rome is not me misunderstanding the doctrine of the Trinity; it is Trinitarians ignoring the obvious. Jesus told the Jews that he would fulfill all that was prophesied. What was not prophesied is that God would take on human form and die. What was prophesied was the a man born of a woman would come as a prophet like Moses from the line of David and rule Israel from David's throne. What we have in Hebrews 1:2 is an interpretation not a translation. Here is how the word "aioon" is translated in the NAS: Now, lets put vs. 2 in context and read it with some understanding. Since God in the past spoke through prophets and is today speaking through His son, if the son created the worlds then it was the son who spoke through the prophets. Also if Jesus created the worlds then he owns the worlds and cannot be an heir of what he created. In regard to John 17:3, I am not imposing an assumption on Jesus' words; Trinitarians are ignoring the plain understanding of Jesus' words as well as the entire OT where we are repeatedly told that Yaweh is the Father and the only true God who alone created all that exists. |
