Apologetics Forum: Ask questions about Christianity/Debate doctrinescatholicsAieno Wrote: I was told so when I was studying the early roots of Christianity by the teacher, however I do not know much about him. I (as well as others) was told that he was not an admirer of Plato. Aieno Wrote: I can understand your position regarding the Soul, to be completely honest its been something thats often confused me. However I want to see if you agree with the following; Biblicaly the Hebrew word for soul or life is nepesh. Plants do not have nephesh but animals do, right? In the case of man although he was formed from the dust of the ground, God personally 'breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (nepesh). Mans life, soul, spirit came directly from God. Along with his unique attributes “speaking spirit” with his spirit and mind he was able to communicate with God, and reason. Would you say that you agree with the above? |
