ArchivedA question for straight peopleYou are reading animal studies through your own prejudices. Bucks have to compete for females and those who loose the battle are denied access to the does so they act out their sexual energy with other males, which is situational sexuality. The same is true of all herd animals, so what you see is bi-sexual behavior not homosexual behavior. Also you are ignoring what else is “normal” in nature, which is what all who appeal to animal behavior to support homosexuality choose to do. You are also missing my point concerning choices. You may not have chosen the desires but you can choose to act on them. Again you have proven my point. What you want to believe concerning ex-gays is a lie that is no different than what uneducated Christians want to believe concerning homosexuals. If you refuse to accept what we as ex-gays have experienced in life why should heterosexuals believe what you want to believe concerning your homosexuality? Experimenting with sex as children is a lot different than living an open and out gay life, as most ex-gays have done before they overcame or learned to control those desires. I know from personal experience that sexuality is not innate, immutable, or unchangeable for all who deal with this issue. African-Americans are at greater risk for HIV infection according to statistics so what is your point? BTW, I know to many highly educated and motivated African-Americans to allow this mute point to go unchallenged. Discrimination based on race affects more than African-Americans depending on what region of this country or the world you live in. My father’s family discriminated against my mother because of her German heritage. I lived in Houston for 23 years and saw discrimination against African-Americans, Hispanics, and Asians but these same minorities were also among the most successful. What one does with their life is based on what one wants to do with their life. As to studies, if you are going to appeal to studies that support your position why object to being faced with studies that do not support your position? Sure we can each appeal to studies that support our stance, however, I am willing to accept you did not choose to be gay; are you willing to accept there are psychological and other reasons for this condition other than nature? If not then why start a discussion? If you want rational discussions then cease posting irrational theories based on incomplete evidence such as appealing to animal behaviors that support your thesis without addressing the totality of animal behavior. Come on forced sex between a child and an adult is child molestation, on the other hand a child with SSA who embraces a sexual relationship with an adult is not. However pedophilia is a crime regardless of consent. If you want a rational discussion then keep it rational. If you are being hurt by words then you are the one with the problem not those who speak God’s truth. When two adults are “engaging in an ideally living and mutually supportive relationship” then what the world thinks is irrelevant and what Christians say is also irrelevant unless these people have suppressed doubts, which is the source of their discomfort. I know this to be true because I could have cared less what society, my family, my employers, or any church had to say about how I lived my life from the age of 18 onward. What Christians say about homosexuality has never affected my life one way or another; and I came out in the early 1960’s. In answer to your question concerning how homosexuality is hurting me, the answer is it doesn’t. I have gay friends and relatives that I interact with on a regular basis and accept them for who they are, and I have ex-gay friends and relatives who have the same attitude I do and our goal is to improve relations between gay and straights without debating causes of the condition. You on the other hand have simply chosen to accuse those who do not understand homosexuality of being bigots. |
