ArchivedA question for straight peopleYou are beating a dead horse with this "choice" debate. Anyone who has taken the time to educate themselves on gay desires understands the desires are not chosen. Some cultures (not the world) used to believe women were of less value than men and some cultures still do. Those sections of the world conquered by whites have treated Blacks and other indigineous people with contempt. However, you really need to study a little more history since Black on Black, Asian on Asian, Arab on Arab violence fills the history books. As to people thinking the world was flat this is simply not true. Read this: http://www.jesus-christ-forums.com/home/viewtopic.php?t=6377 I guess society is as good a scapegoat as any other scapegoat to blame for the instability of gay relationships. After all why accept personal responsibility for relational problems when you can blame "society"? Straights are the victims of discrimination at work, housing, and are the targets of violence. What you cannot show is that Christians are the only source of discrimination and/or the violence aimed at gays. My father was an atheist and you should have heard how he talked about homos. His attitude changed a bit after he found out he had 2 gay sons. The truth is that fear of gays has more to do with a preceived threat to a man's masculinity than religion does. But why bother about truth when you have an organization like Christianity to blame? Oh and BTW discrimination based on sexual orientation is against the law so what are you complaining about?
