Christian/Muslim ThreadsANTI-CHRIST in Christianity and DAJJAL in Islam!!!Muslims try to point out the truth to all religions not just Christianity. However, you are right in assuming that Muslims refer to the biblical teachings a fair bit. I can't answer for all Muslims but I myself concern myself with the Bible as you Christians are closest to us in acceptance of prophets. Yes, I know you don't accept Muhammad (pbuh) as a prophet but you do Jesus (pbuh) the same way we do. And it is probably only Christians and Muslims who accept Jesus (pbuh) as holy and as a Messiah. Also, we believe that Muhammad (pbuh) glorified Jesus (pbuh), in that, informing people of the book that Jesus (pbuh) was not the prophet that Moses (pbuh) referred to as false but he was in fact a true beloved prophet of God, and therefore, God kept his promise and saved him from the crucifixion. Because Muhammad (pbuh) glorified him in this sense, it may be that Muslims feel slightly responsible for offering their beliefs regarding Jesus (pbuh) and carrying out Jesus' (pbuh) prophecy about being glorified through the spirit of truth. Yes, as you have gathered, we Muslims believe the spirit of truth to be none other than Muhammad (pbuh) as we acknowledge the nickname given to him prior to his prophethood (Al-Amin-The trustworthy). |
