Humans ARE indeed meat eaters. Here is a link from CNN: http://www.cnn.com/NATURE/9904/22/earliest.humans/
I will quote a bit from this link:
"We now have the clearest evidence these very early hominids were butchering mammals and were knowledgeable about the (marrow) within the bones, a highly valuable food source," he said.
The findings of the researchers, which included more than 40 scientists from 13 countries, is reported in Friday's issue of the journal Science.
How much evidence do you need? Perhaps a 100 scientists from ALL coutries of the world? Or should we construct a time machine, set it to 2,5 million years ago and SHOW you the actual animal?
Here is more: It from a vegetarian internet site:
http://www.vegetarian-diet.info/vegetar ... estion.htm
First and foremost is our stomach's production of hydrochloric acid, something not found in herbivores. HCL activates protein-splitting enzymes. Further, the human pancreas manufactures a full range of digestive enzymes to handle a wide variety of foods, both animal and vegetable.
While humans may have longer intestines than animal carnivores, they are not as long as herbivores; nor do we possess multiple stomachs like many herbivores, nor do we chew cud. Our physiology definitely indicates a mixed feeder, or an omnivore, much the same as our relatives, the mountain gorilla and chimpanzee (who have been observed eating small animals and, in some cases, other primates) .
I have been doing some more searching on the net. Here's another quote:
[url:3n12ay39]http://www.betterhealthchannel.com.au/bhcv2/bhcarticles.nsf/pages/Vegetarian_eating?OpenDocument[/url] wrote:women need high quantities of iron in their daily diet to prevent anaemia. Vegetarian diets are generally high in iron from plant foods, however, this iron is not absorbed as well as the iron in meat.
This would suggest that the body is more adapted to digesting meat than iron-rich plants. I love discussing it with vegetarian friends I have. Most of them stick with it out of habit, rather then health reasons. Don't get me wrong though: I am not saying there is something WRONG with vegetarians, I am just saying that (although the bible seems to think otherwise) we ARE indeed partial meat eaters (omnivores). The fact that we can live on a vegetarian diet does not change our species' history.
