So, Jesus being 100% human would mean him being the same as us. Tempted by sin, and able to commit it should he desire. The difference of course being, that he didn't.
But what's to stop any human never commiting a sin? Hypothetically. If the only big difference between a normal human and Jesus was that he never gave in to sin, surely it should be possible for a normal human to do likewise?
Surely a human who will never commit a sin is not really 100% human?
This has also got me thinking about the whole original sin argument, does anyone know the stance on how Jesus was exempt from this? Thanks?
And likewise, if Jesus was 100% God, was his power and knowledge unlimited? Did he not grow and mature in knowledge, [can't remember which Gospel, but it's early on in one of them]. And as Aineo pointed out, Jesus didn't claim to know everything, quite the opposite in fact.
In fact, this whole thing is reminding me a bit of quantum physics, with the whole wave/particle duality of matter. Perform an experiment one way, and you see photons as waves. Do it another way, and they're suddenly particles. And there's no way of truly determining just what a photon is without looking at it and looking at it determines the outcome anyway.
Perhaps Jesus was both God and Human in this kind of way, completely God when he needed to be, and completely Human when not. Whilst still inexplicably being both, at the same time.
Anyway, brain hurting.
what're your thoughts?
God bless
