David Wrote:
The Catholic church is an apastate church and contrary to the truth of God's Word.
Thats your personal opinion, I disagree.
David Wrote:
Do you pray this prayer? Read it carefully and tell me if you see anything that is contrary to the true gospel in a way that makes it "another gospel" and another "Jesus".
Again another opinion.
David Wrote:
"Bend Tenderly Over Our Wounds
"Enraptured by the splendor of your heavenly beauty, and impelled by the anxieties of the world, we cast ourselves into your arms, O Immaculate Mother of Jesus and our Mother, Mary, confident of finding in your most loving heart appeasement of our ardent desires, and a safe harbor from the tempests which beset us on every side.
Though degraded by our faults and overwhelmed by infinite misery, we admire and praise the peerless richness of the sublime gifts with which God has filled you, above every other mere creature, from the first moment of your conception until the day on which, after your assumption into heaven, he crowned you Queen of the Universe.
O crystal Fountain of Faith, bathe our minds with the eternal truths! O fragrant Lily of All Holiness, captivate our hearts with your heavenly perfume! O Conqueress of Evil and Death, inspire in us a deep horror of sin, which makes the soul detestable to God and a slave of hell!...
Receive, O most sweet Mother, our humble supplications, and above all obtain for us that, one day, happy with you, we may repeat before your throne that hymn which today is sung on earth around your altars: You are all-beautiful, O Mary! You are the glory, your are the joy, your are the honor of our people!Amen."
I see nothing wrong with the above, actually I think its very beautiful.
David Wrote:
"JOHN MACARTHUR: I don't want to leave Jim [James Kennedy] out of this, but I think that it is so important to know this. In a time like this of tolerance, listen, false teaching will always cry intolerance. It will always say you are being divisive, you are being unloving, you are being ungracious, because it can only survive when it doesn't get scrutinized. So it cries against any intolerance. It cries against any examination, any scrutiny—just let's embrace each other; let's love each other; let's put all that behind us. False doctrine cries the loudest about unity. Listen carefully when you hear the cry for unity, because it may be the cover of false doctrine encroaching. If ever we should follow 1 Thessalonians 5, and examine everything carefully, it's when somebody is crying unity, love, and acceptance."
In Christ with loving intentions
Are you John Macarthur? has this been copy and pasted? What you going on about ?
David instead of blabbering around and copy and pasting things from the internet and quoting things from different people who are not even scholars. Instead of giving me your opinions, why dont you just prove your position by quoting the bible?

Reading that, I wanted to throw up. But one point, David -- they cannot be apostate, for they were never with Christ in order to fall away from later. The Roman Catholic church is the product of the unholy union of Christian terminology and some doctrines with paganism and the Roman political system. So yes, they are still essentially pagan; yes they are cultic, but no, they are not apostate. They would have had to have been followers first in order to have that designation.
Why in God's name would you want to throw up? please tell me, what made you feel sick?
Do you even know what a cult is? We are the true followers of Christ, that is my opinion.
When you stop giving me your opinions, I will stop giving you mine. We can both play the game of opinion giving. It would make a lot more sence if you could prove the accusations you are making.
But on the other hand proving things isn't really one of your stronge points, is it?

Some of the Catholic Church's ECF's were Christians who adopted pagan concepts, like images, the Marian doctrines and etc. and aided in turning these into "holy tradition". I would label the Catholic Church a church in apostasy because some Protestants who know better are converting from the true faith to the structured belief system of the Catholic Church because they see in the Catholic Church a consistant history of doctrines not subject to change. You can blame the sociel gospel many mainline denominations now profess for this migration from a liberal church to an apostate church.
You claim we have adopted pagan concepts yet you cannot prove this, without reaching for anti-Catholic biast sources.
The Protestants who are converting to Catholicism, are coming home to Rome, home to Christ the head of the one and only true apostolic Catholic Church. They are abandoning there man made denominations and doctrines and are comming home to recieve Christ in fullness.
When you say Protestants are converting from the "true faith" does this apply to all Protestant denominations? or just the ones that your personal biblical interpretations agree with?
