Yea I can understand your fear from the "Mad Cow Disease" and with the follow up reports about feedings of other animals to boot.
But what about the animals that are not force-fed garbage, they do it by design. How could anybody feel comfortable eating these if they know what they eat?
I am from the South in the USA, and in my days I have eaten quite a bit of animals that I now am aware of being designed to clean. I wonder why no one has to tell people not to eat buzzard? And yet some eat possum.
How many gallons of pollution is it that a single shellfish filters out of the water in a day’s time? What about health reports on pig flesh effects to our bodies.
Some people consider snails a delicacy. I don't want to think about that slime trail-leaving slug as being food for me. And yet I have eaten snapping turtle, and it tasted good too. However I now know a little more about its eating habits, yech! Eels, clams, oysters, catfish, sharks, crabs, shrimps, just to name a few are creatures that some people find to be delicacies. And what do they all have in common, they are scavengers, they eat the dead and dieing, the sick and lame. And the toxins that they have in them we take into us. Makes you hungry doesn't it? Is it a sin to eat these things, no it is not. It will not keep you from getting to heaven, in fact it could speed your journey. God is the manufacture of our bodies and He knows the fuel that keeps us running in top order. If we are sick and lame what type of testimony are we to unbelievers? When we are sick and weak or hurting how can we go into all the world? We eat the right things and do the right things to be healthy tools in God's hands. Service to the Kingdom, speeding the return of Christ.
