I understand that there is a spiritual message in Acts.
The point I am trying to get us to consider is that God had a reason for calling some animals clean and others unclean. As Lev. breaks it down one can see that some animals have the sole purpose of cleaning the environment. There are multiple studies done in our day and time that show some things we eat to be poison for our systems. And with our treatment of the environment not to mention how and what we feed our food animals we are destroying any health benefit they may have had.
Here in Germany as in America many people consume large portions of pork, shellfish, and other so named by God as unclean animals.
I read of a test done by the US Navy to see what a ship wrecked person could safely eat. Their finding in a nutshell where that if it had scales and fins in was safe to eat.
It took time and money to find out what they could have read in Lev. 11:9 "Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams, you may eat any that have fins and scales....
I agree that God planned to have the Israelites be a nation of priest, living and showing God's love and blessings, going into all the world and sharing the one true God. Influencing the world, but it was the world that influenced them, and us.
Just because the world has come to accept something as acceptable, or tasty does this nullify God's wisdom?
If God said certain things are not to be eaten why do we need a doctor’s report to start believing that maybe something is not right in our eating it.
Oh, bye the way, I am not (as of yet anyway) a vegetarian.
I am not saying that all flesh is unclean, I am saying that we are causing it to become unhealthy however.
Split hoof and chews the cud, and what do we feed cows today? A food substitute made from bone meal!
We are destroying our world.
Romans 8:22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
God Bless you every one and your families, both physical and spiritual.
