ArchivedIt is against true Christianity to force moralitThe Mosaic laws against homosexuality was written during the time in which Israel lived under a theocracy. Paul was writting to Timothy to instruct him that the law was good for the ungodly, but not for the righteous. If you read in Romans 3, it says that none are good, and that the law condems us all Romans 7:10; the law was used to show that we all needed a saviour to do what none of us can do., which is to live without sinning. Under a theocracy a law against homosexuality would have to be passed. Any Christian worth his/her weight in paper would also say that those homosexual laws in principal would still apply today, but we are not in a theocracy my friend. Paul was reminding Timothy that Godly laws were made for the ungodly. You are mixing up laws which God gave man with the laws in which contemporary folk debate over on C-Span. There is no cloud with a voice giving folks the right to vote in Florida, or striking women down with lightning because they have stepped out of an abortion clinic after killing a child - God will judge them later. |
