gerani1248 I have asked you before and I will ask you again, what is love?
As to America:
The Constitution of the United States of America
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Article I
Section 1. All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Unlike countries where other religions dominate the legal system in America you can practice any religion you choose; this is a Constitutional right and guarantee.
What you and barabbas are advocating is that we throw out the 1st Amendment so special interest groups can control the majority. Marriage is not a right it is a religious institution that has been secularized for the public good.
No appointed court has the Constitutional authority to mandate laws or force the Legislative branch to pass laws that violate the majority will of the people.
The job of the Holy Spirit is to convict the "world" of guilt, Aineo the Holy Spirit doesn't need your help in telling homosexuals that true marriage is between a man and a woman. You are misrepresenting a wholesome Biblical perspective on tolerance of unsaved folk. I am done
barabbas, you have the right to practice your own
interpretation of the Bible but to extend Biblical teachings concerning church discipline to what American citizens have to say about gay unions is way beyond your purview. I don't see where the Bible was given to you or where you were appointed the authority on how the Bible should be understood.
It is the Holy Spirit's job to convict men of "sin".
James 5:19-20
19 My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth, and one turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins. NAS
You whole attitude is "let them burn in hell and I won't do any thing to stop them." Is this your definition of "love your neighbor"?
Rom 13:8-10
8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. 9 For this, "You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; love therefore is the fulfillment of the law. NAS
1 Tim 1:5-12
5 But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6 For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, 7 wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions. 8 But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous man, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers 10 and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, 11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted. NAS
