Thank you All
Thank you all for your wonderful and affable replies. They truly warmed my heart. I am very glad to be a member of this terrific forum.
I believe that one of the fundamental points in my conversion, was the study of the character and way of life of Muhammad. Muslims almost never discuss or criticize his actions. In their mentality, it is assumed he always did the right thing that Allah instructed him to do. He sort of, had a free pass from his God. No Muslim should ever criticize him, and to do so, is an act of apostasy in itself.
Because of my Medical Background (I was a Medical student before I left the Islamic country) I immensely developed my compassionate humane side. I came to realize that certain Islamic punishments are Barbaric in their nature. Muhammad put great emphasis on the flesh over the spirit. When describing Heaven, he talked about wine, chants, fine food, and women. When he talked about hell, it was corporal punishment. He of course, used the same principle to enforce the law, i.e. cutting hands of the thief, stoning the adulterer, flogging, beheading...etc.
So I had many questions about this Cult, but after 9/11, I decided to rethink Islam all over again. I reflected a lot and pondered upon many Islamic principles, such as jihad, polygamy, corporal punishments, and others. I started to recognize the weak and medieval foundations of this religion. Since my young age, I was always attracted to Christianity. When young, I loved drawing crosses, and listening to Christian music. So when I read about Christianity, I found out that Muhammad plagiarized almost everything good in his teachings from us, and from Judaism. Not only that, but when I studied his character, I was appalled by the amount of lasciviousness and excess he indulged himself with. There is no way God would had put his message in the hand of an emotionally ill person like Muhammad. No one denies him the fact that he was a shrewd military leader, and a successful statesman who, as Machiavelli explained some 800 years later in his book The Prince, astutely used religion to rule and unite his people. But the epileptic crisis he used to frequently suffer from, just moments before he spoke the Koran, let us think of certain demonic intervention. In his first apparition to him, Muhammad described an angel of light to his first wife Khadija, and there is only one angel of light we know of.
Everything Muhammad did proves his human nature. He waged wars, fought battles, killed, was wounded, lusted, married many women, executed his enemies, practiced political assassinations against his opponents, and at the end, died of poisoning. When you compare the message of Jesus Christ to his, it is like comparing Angels to Amazons. Two different messages. One based on love, the other on fear. One describes us as the children of God, the other as his slaves. Of course it is impossible to compare the two characters. The Lord Jesus warned us against false prophets and false messiahs, who will lead many to perdition. Many as 1.2 Billion souls.
