ArchivedProve Islam with the BiblePeace Believer, I understand that the Christian world argues that the councelor is the Holy Ghost because it mentions the holy spirit. However, we should also make it clear that the spirit is not always the Holy Ghost in the Bible. In the book of revelations, we are told that seven spirits of God went out into the Earth. Is there seven Holy Ghosts? Ofcourse not! Now in John 3:6 it reads “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit” I’m asking to spirits beget? You would say no. But in this verse, St. John, is explaining that those who are spiritually inclined are spirits and those who are materialistically inclined are of the flesh. Even though as humans we are solid beings, if we are spiritual we are considered as spirits according to St. John. Furthermore in John 16:7, Jesus gives a condition which is that if he doesn’t leave the Counsellor will not come. Now we are told that the Holy Ghost existed long before the birth of Jesus. The bible confirms that Elizabeth had the Holy Ghost, that Zacharia had the Holy Ghost and that John the Baptist had the holy Ghost with him in his mother’s womb(what he was doing there eludes me). We are also told that the Holy Ghost aided Jesus in doing his miracles “with the spirit of God…”, and that the Holy Ghost was with the disciples in their mission of preaching and Healing. So it makes no sense to say that” if I don’t go, he won’t come”. "I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come” (John 16:12-14) I have already proven to you that a spirit in the Bible does not always mean the Holy Ghost and can refer to human being. However, let me emphasis on that point further. 1 John 4:1-3, "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: In this verse, St. John is equating a spirit to a prophet. So it’s clear that a Prophet can be a spirit! 1Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well ( 1 John 5:1) Again, John, states that who ever believes that Jesus is the Messiah (Christ), is from God. Did Muhammad say that Jesus was the Messiah? Absolutely, open Surah Al-Imran: (Remember) when the angels said: “O Mary! Verily, Allah gives you glad tidings of a Word ( Be! – and he was) from Him, his name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and in the hereafter , and will be one of those who are near to Allah” (3:45) So why don’t you apply to this Muhammad?. On the testification of this great man alone, 26% of the world’s population believe that Jesus is the Messiah. Also I remind you that Jesus said” I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth”. I have been asking the Christians what new things has the Holy Ghost brought that Jesus hasn’t already said in so many different ways because he says “ I have much more to say to, but you cannot bear them now”. It’s not that Jesus did not have the solutions, he did, but it was the people who were not fit to receive them. So what solutions has the Holy Ghost brought that will guide Christianity into all truths? And the amazing thing is that every sect in Christianity claims the Holy Ghost. Ask the Jehovah’s witness, they’ll tell you they have the Holy Ghost, ask the Roman Catholics, they’ll tell you they have the Holy Ghost. In America alone there are over 40 different Baptist Church, who all claim to have the Holy Ghost, but are all going in different directions. One Holy Ghost, from God, that’s taking the sects of Christianity in opposite directions? Absolutely Amazing! Peace and Blessings be to the Believers |
