ArchivedThe Real Homosexual Agenda????The Roman Catholic Church made a fortune selling indulgences that allowed divorce and remarriage. When Henry the VIII applied for an indulgence to divorce Catherine of Aragon because she did not give him a male heir the Pope refused for political reasons. Catherine was the youngest daughter of the powerful King of Spain and the Pope did not want to alienate Spain. So, we have the Anglican Church. It is an interesting sidelight to history that Anne Boylene's (Henry's second wife) daughter Elizabeth I ended Spain's dominance of the seas.
The term "heterophobia" has been in common use for about a decade, although I don't believe it has made it into the dictionary. Another term that is gaining popularity is "heterocentric".
Ever been to a Mardi Gras parade? These are the straight equivalent of gay pride parades and have been celebrated for centuries.
Heterosexuals established nudist camps, so you already have this and most of the streaker’s from the 70's were heterosexual. I can’t speak for the industrialized east but I would not be surprised to see country kids riding horses to school even today, especially in the high Rockies where snow and cold make automobiles unreliable. I attended college in Gunnison Colorado where the temperature drops to 50 below zero for a low and does not rise above zero for the months of January and February for a high.
Although I disagree with the proposed Federal Hate Crimes Law, gays have been historically short-changed by our judicial system. Straight men who kill gay men have been no billed and released by judges. Contact the Lambda defense league and they can give you case histories. One judge in California actually dismissed charges against gay killers with this comment: "You have done our society a favor." Vigilantism is wrong, period. "Furthermore, judges letting gay bashers and killers off or giving them lenient sentences because the victims were gay is a serious problem in our judicial system.
"In 1991, Judge Terry McDonald (D) gave probation to a U.S. Marine in San Antonio convicted of beating a gay man to death. Referring to the victim, McDonald said, "the son-of-a-bitch got what was coming to him." To offer a reduced punishment to the perpetrators of the most heinous murder in recent Wyoming history not only profanes the memory of Matthew Shepard, it sets a frightening precedent which devalues the life of every gay person in America.
