He didn't have a sin-o-plex where people could sin all they want and stop by his office to get laying-hands-on forgivness at the end of the day.
Jesus didn't play any games.
He only "forgave" people who were SERIOUS about trying to get right.
Mr Banks,
I wish more people who profess to be Christians would believe what you as a non believer... just wrote.. God said "Be Holy as I am Holy" and truly being a Christian means living a life that as far as is possible reflects that Holiness.
What you have just described as "sin-oh-plex" is the greatest evil that some one who says they believe in Jesus can commit.. to keep on sinning after coming to a realisation of what sin cost God??? Sad thing is, it's not only some supposed Christians who do it, it's what most of the world does in rejecting Him. but that is for another stream.
What you just wrote is as true as is "to look at a woman with lust is to commit adultery".. it's the heart attitude that speaks even louder than our actions.
I just had to write and agree with you on that very astute comment.
