ArchivedHeres my thoughts..BetaMax, if you are a Christian then I have the right to judge your actions according to God's word, if you are not a Christian God will judge you according to His word. God states homosexual acts are an abomination and the punishment is death (Lev 18:22, Lev 20:13). It is the Law that the Holy Spirit uses to convict us of sin, and once we accept Jesus as our Savior, are sealed with the Spirit we will no longer practice sin (1 John 3:9-10). Jesus told those who brought the woman taken in adultery to be judged that "let him who is without sin cast the first stone". Why did Jesus refuse to judge the woman? The Pharisees brought only the woman and not the man involved in adultery, and you, like many people left off the rest of what Jesus said: "Go and sin no more". Now as to why Christian's on this board discuss homosexuality as a sin: If you are gay, not a Christian and object to Biblical doctrine discussed here you have the choice not read or post. However, if you are going to support homosexuality as an alternative and acceptable lifestyle on this board expect to have your opinions debated. If you are not gay and support homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle then I suggest you study both sides of this issue before you make an emotional decision based on ignorance and not truth. Mr.Banks made a broad inaccurate statement that implies all gay men and lesbian women have experienced sexual, physical, or emotional abuse. Although this is not factual the vast majority of gays and lesbians have experienced major trauma in the childhood and this is not an inaccurate statement based on my personal discussions with men and women in the lifestyle and the research I have done. Being gay may not be as bad as a murderer in this life but the eternal consequences for all unrepentant sin is equal: so to compare homosexuality with murder, rape, lying, adultery, stealing, etc. is not inaccurate. |
