Trinity DebateJesus as the embodied pre-existent SonThis was a part of the Christ's predestined plan, that the Father commanded Him to lay down His life and then raise again. The Father's greatest plans involve His Son, whom He sent to this world. His Son was always with Him in Glory, well before Abraham, and the Creation. Scripture tells us this. The passage shows an interesting relationshoip between the Father and Son. I didn't say Jesus would suffer decay. Godly power was in Him even when He descended to Sheol. He did gave to go there to free the captives. I do agree with that above statment, although I feel that scripture has more about Jesus then the man Jesus. As far as God having dominion over Satan's Hell, I have to question if that is so. Hell is the absence of God. The Holy Spirit is our Advocate whom the Father sent. Is the Father Himself residing in the Faithful? Or is it the Holy Spirit of God who proceeded from the Father and who is our Advocate. Oh, I wouldn't conclude the Spirit is anthromorphised. The Holy Spirit is alive. It is a living person that speaks in Acts many times. This is our Advocate. The Spirit knows the mind and intentions of God our Father. If the Holy Spirit is God's very soul and self, then what is the Father? I mean, the Father and Holy Spirit just aren't the exact same thing, although they are of one accord, on true God. II Corinthains 13:13 and Matthew 28:19, I'll repeat again, show distinction between Father, Son, and Spirit. The passage tells us that the Holy Spirit knows the depths of God's mind. What is the Mind of God, or the Body of God? We could have an abstract discussion on the Trinity with material like this. Well, the Son does complete the Father. I can't make you accept that. We need both. The Father's wishes wouldn't be at all if it weren't for His Son. He is far more important than all of the prophets and anyone else in the story. Colossians 1:16-17 16 For in him were created all things in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things were created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. If Christ mediated creation, then maybe He's more connected to God our Father then you're comfortable with at the moment. |
