ArchivedFrom chance to truthI became a christian on August 25, 1991. I spent 12 years in the christian church. So yes, in a sense I am "saved" by the christian terminology; I am also "backslidden" according to christian terminology because I willingly left the faith. The church believes that humans are separated from god by sin and that a saviour is necessary to bridge that separation. Enter the crucifixion of Jesus. I believe that humans are accountable for the consequences of their actions - either to government authorities and the people they represent or a higher Source the governs the cosmos. Call it the "what-goes-around-comes-around" rule. I believe christians call it "reciprocity". The good that I do is a result of choice - I choose to do no harm to others. The Wiccan Rede states in part, "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will." I choose to live my life according to that rule (though I am not Wiccan) because it is all encompassing. |
