ArchivedFrom chance to truthNow tell me, how many things in this world were/are created out of the result of chance? None! So how can one say that the earth was created by chance? This is a false teaching which some hold to, and not only false as a teaching, but also a teaching that makes no sense. Take for instance the example which I give you from Dr. R.C. Sproul. When a coin is flipped it can land heads or tails, but what determines whether it lands heads or tails? One might say “Chance!” But this is not true. Chance is the probability that it would land heads or tails (50/50), but chance does not cause it to land heads or tails. While the coin is flipping in the air, chance does not come in and say “let me decide the fate of this coin”, rather this is the work of physics. The amount of force you put on the coin and the amount of revolutions it makes determines where it will land. So, take this teaching of chance into the creation of the world.—it makes no sense that a probability created something. Chance is not a force or a being, therefore it cannot create. The world was created by a Creator. |
