ArchivedFrom chance to truth
So, you do believe in a god, just not my God. Followup: What do you believe about the nature of the god you believe in? Do you believe he is just sort of a nebulous entity that exists outside of our reach, or do you believe he is a personal god with whom you can communicate (i.e. you can pray to him, and he can reveal what he wants to you)? Fair enough, I suppose. I think my question is still valid, though, even without the Scriptural reference. Are the good deeds that anyone does good enough, and how do you know that? So, if you are basically following the same path as I, then you must believe that you are already "saved", correct? And that the good deeds you do are a result of your salvation? If that is the case, then I would ask you how you became saved. Do you believe that there are some that are saved and some that are not, or do you believe that we're all basically good people and that we're saved by default? I could try to explain this to you, but it would require the use of Scripture, which you've already said is irrelevant to you. Suffice it to say, you're missing the point, and I don't think you understand the Christian view of how God looks at and deals with mankind. |
