"Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second." Hebrews 10:9 I would like to hear your feed back about the above quote. Surnames? It was not enough to be of the tribe of Levi. Aarons brother Moses was not a priest, he was a Prophet. Only direct descendants of Aaron could be priests. To be a priest one had to be a direct descendant of Aaron. (Lev.1:5-11). "The following priestly clans could find no record to prove their ancestry: Habaiah, Hazzoz and Barzillai ... Since they were unable to prove who their ancestors were, they were not accepted as priests." He insolently invaded the sanctuary ... and stripped off everything. the king erected the horrible abomination upon the altar." 1 Maccabees 1:20-22 "The Temple Desecrated: Not long after this, the king sent an Athenian senator to force the Jews to abandon the customs of their ancestors and live no longer by the laws of God; also to profane the temple in Jerusalem and dedicate it to Olympian Zeus, and that on Mount Gerizim to Zeus, the Hospitable, as the inhabitants of the place requested. The Gentiles filled the temple with debauchery and revelry; they amused themselves with prostitutes ... even in the sacred court. They also brought into the temple things that were forbidden, so that the altar was covered with abominable offerings prohibited by the laws." 2 Maccabees 6:1-5 The abomination was completely fulfilled when Roman idols and pagan symbols were placed in the temple in 70AD by Titus. |
