Love doesn't fail if it is put into practice. In the parable of the talents the one man went and hid his talent in the ground. Instead of investing his love, he buried it. Lots of people are burying their love that God gave them instead of living by it,. They are burying themself and they are dying because of it. They let themself live by fear. Love betrays itself by being scared that what was given by God to protect and nurture it, will hurt it. Love betrays itself by not trusting itself. We are all a part of each other. The whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. We are in this together. Sin is what comes in and creates fear. The fear breaks the lines of communication. Love causes jealousy. Jealousy is as cruel as the grave. God is love and we are made in his image. That means that we are love. Love never fails but it does run into problems.
Matthew 24:12- "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."
The love is still there but it refuses to live by faith.
The love doesn't fail because you can't fail at something you refuse to acknolwledge or try. If the love doesn't feed itself through the word and spirit of God and by living out God on earth, then the love will die. Love betrays itself by starving itself. It betrays itself by not believeing in itself. It betrays itself by not giving of itself freely. Love betrays itself by not being perfect love.
God's love is perfect love. Our love is a shadow of the things to come.
1 Timothy 6:10- "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
1 John 4:10- "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins."
Our love is temporary. Our love is not eternal. God's love is a gift to us to live through. God's love is eternal and will never perish. Our love will perish.
Psalm 109:18- "As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him."
Love betrays itself by giving itself to the wrong things.
1 John 2:15- "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world, If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."
Love betrays itself by not uniting itself with itself. It betrays itself by separating itself into opposing forces.
