Religious Cults & False Prophets~ Discussions and DebatesWord Faith teachers and their Blasphemous Heresies!!!(Omega): Could you elaborate on why you find this assertion "heretical", "blasphemous" and "unscriptural"? I may not agree with all of Joyce's theology on this point (to me, it seems there is a bit of presumption in it), but my understanding is that claiming Jesus is "the first Born-Again man" is simply a reference to his resurrection from the dead. I'd never call this assertion heretical or blasphemous, though I'm not sure if the terminology is accurate because Jesus wasn't the first person to be resurrected. Jesus himself brought a few people back from the dead in his own ministry (Lazarus and the little girl) and I believe one of the prophets in the OT (was it Elisha?) raised a little boy from the dead. So - given those other resurrections, I'm not sure if calling Jesus the first born-again man is accurate... but perhaps there is another reason why some hold this view? In any event - I've got no problem with someone disagree with the phrase itself, but I don't see the justification of calling the claim "heretical", "blasphemous" and "unscriptural"?
