What you have failed to show me is what was Allah's standard (criteria) on how you (or anyone) can know who is the true prophet or not...according to the Qur'an and/or Hadiths. Again, the Bible shows how we can know a true prophet or not. Can the Qur'an? or Haiths even?
Prophet Muhammad was known in his time with the nick "reliable." That helped those around him believe in him at the beginning. Also, his care for his people, his patience against hardships, his sense of justice were a few of his many attractive merits.
But his real evidence and power was in the appeal of the Message he brought from God. It was that strength of the Message and assistance of God, that paved the way for the Islamic ummah even after his death. Muhammad was just a messenger chosen to convey the message, it is God who is the owner and protector of the Message in the Qur'an. So Muhammad's evidence is what He brought from God. The Message (Qur'an) speaks for itself.
At Muhammad's death Abu Bakr shouted to shocked Muslims: "Whoever believes in Muhammad, he is dead. Whoever believes in Allah, He is Ever-Living." That gives the gist indeed.
