Abortion Memorial ServiceBabies in Hell?Hello there beads. Grace is an unmerited gift. There is no reason to believe God does not grant this gift to children who die before they are old enough to consciously be aware of the sacrifice Jesus made and how it applies to them. As posted before, there is an example of such in the situation of David's child. However, that is one situation and the bible does not make clear whether it automatically applies to all. That seems to leave us with the thought that it is possible for babies to not go to heaven. For many people this brings up visions of tiny newborns either being held and cuddled in heaven or laying there burning in a fiery hell. I can't see either as a real possibility. I believe in the full humanity of the unborn, and can't picture a 4 month old fetus in either place either. Our eternal self is our soul. Does a soul have an age comparable to the age we know here on earth? Remember, our minds are blinded now and we do not use our full brain capacity. It is said that in heaven we will know and have full knowledge. All of these thoughts lead me to believe that a persons soul is ageless and cannot be measured in the sense of age or knowledge that we're aware of. Perhaps this is one of those things we simply need to trust to God. We know that all he does is just. We have some biblical evidence that tells us that the children of believers will be reunited with their loved ones in God's kingdom. So, while I personally tend to think that God chooses to give His grace to all children who die regardless of any other criteria, I also can understand the views of those who don't. Oh yeah, and about "no man comes to the Father but by me". That's very true. Jesus is the one and only way to heaven. If you believe that Jesus blood was shed for all, then by default you must believe that there is nothing barring God from allowing that blood to apply to children. It is still by a soul's purification through Jesus blood that causes that person to be allowed in the presence of God. Jesus is our advocate, who presents us to God through his shed blood. Nobody else does this but Jesus. Unless you believe you did something to merit your own salvation, there shouldn't be a problem with believing the same grace that was extended to you may be extended to a baby. Chrys |
