ArchivedMohammed: Greatest Prophet, Or False Prophet? Before Israel was to have kings, this is what God said to Israel about the king: Deuteronomy 17:17>Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold. Yet they disobeyed God. Just like everyone else, they were sinners. God does not like polygamy, but he allows it because of the hardness of mans heart, just like He allows divorce, but does not endorse it. When Solomon had many wives, he turned away from God, just like God said, and David got into trouble for having a few damsels of his own. Also, check out what the Bible says, then check out what the Qu'ran says on this matter: Holy Bible>If a man marries a woman who becomes displeasing to him because he finds something indecent about her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house, and if after she leaves his house she becomes the wife of another man, and her second husband dislikes her and writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house, or if he dies, then her first husband, who divorced her, is not allowed to marry her again after she has been defiled. That would be detestable in the eyes of the LORD. (Deuteronomy 24:1-4) Qu'ran>And if he hath divorced her (the third time), then she is not lawful unto him thereafter until she hath wedded another husband. Then if he (the other husband) divorce her it is no sin for both of them that they come together again. (Sura 2:230, Pickthall) Come to think of it, in order for the Qu'ran to justify itself, it has to confirm the Bible: ye unto whom the Scripture hath been given! Believe in what We have revealed, confirming that which ye possess. (4:47 Pickthall) As we can see, the Qu'ran does not confirm the Holy Bible. Therefore, the Qu'ran is not the Word of God, and Muhammed (as far as the Qu'ran is concerned) is not a prophet of God. |
