Allah
Allah (Arab aluminium-ilah: the God), in the Islam name for God . The Islamic conception of God is related to that of the Judentums and the Christianity.
Allah was already admired by the before-Islamic Arabs, however not as only God, but as high God, which withdrew in the cult behind other Gods. This high God, which stood with the Kaaba in Mekka in connection, became frequently simple as?der God? called; and in such a way the name became aluminium-ilah Allah by constant use. Mohammed transferred the name already existing to and only God, when its Prophet he understood itself ( see Monotheismus ).
Numerous other names for God stand for the characteristics, which are attributed Allah. Among the most well-known aluminium-Rahman ( the Barmherzige) and aluminium-Rahmin ( the compassion-full) rank. The tradition knows altogether 99 Namen Allahs, those as?die most beautiful names? are praised. Muslims keep a first name, which consists of one of the God names with the set forward word abd (servants usual): Abd Allah, Abd aluminium-Rahman, Abd aluminium-Rahmin, etc..
The earliest works of Islamic theology , as kalam (literally?Debatte? or?Argument?) one designates, originate from the 9. Jahrhundert n. Chr.
One of the topics discussed in the Kalam is the question about the free will .
In the 9. Jahrhundert theologians of the Mutazila school stressed the free will of humans and held the point of view that the justice was a necessary characteristic of God. The free choice was derived from the justice of God between property and bad. The opponents of the Mutazila school regarded the free will however as contradiction to the omnipotence Allahs.
The sunnitischen school according to aluminium-Ashari is God of the creators of all things and therefore pours all human actions. The particular is however responsible for its acts themselves, because it them?zustimme?. By the conception?Zustimmung? tried Ashari the goettliche omnipotence with the free will of humans to reconcile.

And A Little More Hotter...
ALLAH, the Arabic name used by Moslems of all nationalities for the one true God. It is compounded of al, the definite article, and ilah, meaning a god. The same word is found in Hebrew and Aramaic as well as in ancient Arabic (Sabaean). The meaning of the root from which it is derived is very doubtful; cf. Lane's Arabic-English Lexicon, p. 82, and the Oxford Hebrew and English Lexicon, pp. 61 ff
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
'the Ilah' is an uncontracted form, retaining its force of a common noun with the article, from which Allah has been shortened through usage
