Revelation and Prophecy :: EschatologyThe 7 Hills of Rome :: No literal 1,000 year reign of Christ on earth? No literal 1,000 year reign of Christ on earth? If the thousand year reign of Christ told of in Revelation is the "Church Age" - - - 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, Rev 20:2 (KJV) Has the devil been bound for over 1,000 years already? (The "Church Age" has been here for over 1,000 years already.) 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 1 Cor 15:51-53 (KJV) Has the trumpet blown already? Have the dead been raised incorruptible already? Have we been changed already? Have we mortals put on immortality already? When the dead are raised, is this not a resurrection? Doesn't 1 Cor 15:51-52 describe the *first resurrection*? 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Rev 20:5 (KJV) Aren't 1 Cor 15:51-53 and Rev 20:5 describing the same event? If the first resurrection happens before the 1,000 year reign of Christ, and if the 1,000 year reign of Christ is "the Church age", then the first resurrection happened a long, long time ago and per 1 Cor 15:53 everyone in Christ has been changed -- this corruptible has put on incorruption and this mortal has put on immortality. In other words, no Christian dies physically anymore? And no Christian's body decomposes anymore? And by the way, who were the beast and the false prophet who were thrown in the lake of fire before the start of the 1,000 years? Rev 19:20-21 (KJV) If the 1,000 year reign of Christ is the Church age you ought to know who they were because they were thrown in the lake of fire about 2,000 years ago. And the devil will be thrown in there with them -- that is -- after the Church age is over and the devil is unchained for a while? Do you really think that the devil is chained right now? Yours in Christ, "Mudturkle" ps I'm not going to comment on the rest of the post other than to say that I agree that there will only be one second coming, not two and that the entire world will go through a period of tribulation; Christians won't get raptured off the earth beforehand. |
