ArchivedEndurance/Alpha debate: The TrinitySo, from what I see, we both are accusing each other of speculation. I say The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are seperate persons, and you say that Jesus was praying to Himself and when Jesus said only the Father knew the Son's coming, that was really the Father talking about Himself. When Jesus was about to die, He said to the Father, "Into thy hands I comitt my spirit." In Matthew 12:18 it says, "BEHOLD, MY SERVANT WHOM I HAVE CHOSEN; MY BELOVED IN WHOM MY SOUL is WELL-PLEASED; I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT UPON HIM, AND HE SHALL PROCLAIM JUSTICE TO THE GENTILES." So as you can see, it is acceptable to say the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three seperate persons, yet all three are God. With this conclusion I have three possibilities: (1) I can say there is one God in essence and unity. (2) I can give you a whole bunch of analogies concering the Trinity. (3) I can adhere to passages such as Job 33:14 and Isaiah 55:8-9, which neglect your sayings of how the Trinity does not make any sense. *I'd prefer the third option. |
