So, from what I see, we both are accusing each other of speculation. I say The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are seperate persons, and you say that Jesus was praying to Himself and when Jesus said only the Father knew the Son's coming, that was really the Father talking about Himself.
It would seem so. Yet the only thing, is that I can provide scripture that says and shows there is only one God. But you can post nothing that says He is three persons. You can only qoute figurative language and assume they are not the same entity. But scripture does not call them three separte persons.
John 14:16 - And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
John 16:26 - At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
Christ does not separate them. He says I will pray the father and not I will pray to the Father.
Psalms 2:1-3 - Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
When Jesus was about to die, He said to the Father, "Into thy hands I comitt my spirit."
In Matthew 12:18 it says, "BEHOLD, MY SERVANT WHOM I HAVE CHOSEN; MY BELOVED IN WHOM MY SOUL is WELL-PLEASED; I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT UPON HIM, AND HE SHALL PROCLAIM JUSTICE TO THE GENTILES."
So as you can see, it is acceptable to say the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three seperate persons, yet all three are God.
No I don't see how it is acceptable. Let's look at the scripture you qouted. "I WILL PUT MY SPIRIT" is said. So we see God says He will put His own spirit upond Him (MY SPIRIT). So when Christ says into thy hands I commit my spirit, was it not God's spirit that was put upon Him to begin with?
You spoke of Is 55, but you might want to examine the whole chapter particuarly verse 1-3 and 11.
Is 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void.
John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Scripture states that the Word is God and not a separate but equal entity. This is the reason, that trinity is what is speculation. No scripture says God is three persons. But many say he is One. So to make him three persons is to speculate rather than accept what scripture says. Alpha, did God come in the flesh?
