This is the second posting in reply to ursus. This will be dealing with the question ursus posed in his first ever posting in this forum.
In answering ursus, after reading all his postings (he joined 9/03/05, day of his first posting) we should answer him as if he is a Christian and/or a Muslim, he can be an adherent of either. Truth seeker was right in throwing doubt on the real motive of ursus postings.
First: what is the motive of the question of ursus: it may be genuine, but as Truth Seeker outlined, may be otherwise:
If the base of ursus is the Koran, then he knows he can’t win by the usual arguments and thus he is taking us to the Judgement Day. Well, whether ursus’s base is the Bible or the Koran, he will find it is Jesus who will be The Judge on Judgement Day, not Mohammad.
Ursus question is taking us to the metaphysical relaim, hence all the answers posted are based on faith. Christianity does bridge the gap between the physical and the metaphysical.
How:
I. NDE (Near Death Experience): All those who have been through the tunnel find that they meet a pure light being at the end of this tunnel.
This is Jesus, not Mohammad.
II. Miracles: This falls in many categories:
a. Apparitions: Those of the Virgin Mary are so many. Sr Lucia, the last surviving of those who saw the Virgin in Fatima, passed away in February 2005 at the age of 98. Even Muslims see the Virgin. Never heard of an apparition of Mohammad nor that of any of his wives.
b. Cure miracles: No end of cure miracles in Christianity, the web is full of these.
c. Stigmata: Fr Pio was in 20th century.
d. Casting out of demons: Muslims try with the dervishes dancing, Christians do it with the power of praying and the Grace of Jesus Christ.
e. The Holy Spirit: If ursus comes from a Christian background, then he should be asking the Spirit of God, The Holy Spirit, to guide him. This is through prayers. This is one of the miracles of Christianity, having the Holy Spirit as our guide.
