Sure Ursus,
we 'can' be right and we 'can' be wrong, but that is only because faith isn't baconian science... our trust in God is made on basis of faith and not on undisputed facts... the people who saw Moses splitting the sea, didn't start measuring the amount of force that was used... they saw and were convinced... Doubting Thomas may have been the prime example of Baconian science... "i only believe it, when i see it" and it was proven to him... if you seek what is neccerary for you, then you will find it... just read some sites from ex-atheists, but it's not a neccesity to seek for "blessed are the onces who believe but have not seen" it was like Christ made an answer to all those people who requested hard facts before such rhetoric became a mainstream question.
and only if you disregard all arguments in favor of your religion compared to others... only then you can ask yourself such holonistic questions, first you need to stupify yourself and then believe again that all religions are potentially of God of wich only one is right. Shall you reach Nirvana? are we a part of Brahman? shall we see God? Allah? Hare Krishna? Wankatonka? or Ahura Mazda?
I can only say, we have been given time on earth we might as well use it to find out ourselfs, instead of making hypothetical situations about wichever God you could appear too? Study all religions from the root down historically, metaphysical, arceheologically, scriptual and theological... whatever you deem neccerary to know
Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianity, Mandeaism, Manicheans, Islam, Sikhs, Bahai and Mormons
Other Monotheistic ones: Parsism (alltough it's dualistic they worship only Ahura Mazda) and Akhenaton's Armenian movement
Ancient pagan ones: Greek, Roman, Norse, Celtic, Arabic, Babylonian, Incan, Native American, Mayan, Egyptian, etc...
Oriental religions: -- and these are very hard to study because they have that many branches -- buddhism, hinduism and taoism mostly
and then modern mysticism: Kabbalists, Wiccan's, neo-paganism, new age, akhn,...
can you yourself answer? what you would do if you'd stand in front of any of these? for example Charon the ferry man, without the toll you brought? or if Charles Manson really was your saviour?
Have you an answer to your own question?
plus if it was Allah who'd be my judge, it would be hell no matter what the outcome of the verdict would be... i only submit to a just God, and if there is no just God, then there wasn't any reason to live either.
