Religious Cults & False Prophets~ Discussions and DebatesDistinct PersonsBasically you can define the Trinity or Modalism in one or two sentences. The one or two sentences you posted was more than enough to describe what you believe - and it was NOT Trinitarianism. Now you seek to avoid admitting what you said by downplaying it as one sentence or one post. The problem is you cannot delegate what you said to "semantics" as you would no doubt like to, because it is the very semantics (persons as opposed to roles) which differentiate between Trinitarian and Oneness theology. I think you truely believe that the persons of the Trinity are "roles", rather than distinct, self-conscious persons, (per your own comments) but have now realized that that is NOT Trinitarianism, and so you are between a "rock and a hard place". You have gone "out on a limb" in your opposition to non-Trinitarianism, and have now realized that you have "sawed off the limb you were sitting on" because your TRUE understanding of the Trinity was MODALISTIC all the time. Why do you now try and cover up to defend the Trinity? Is there too much at stake in your own life? Are you afraid you'd have to leave your church? I'm afraid no amount of "back-pedaling" will save you the embarrassment of what has come to light. If you think your comment on the Trinity being "roles" and the persons of the Trinity EQUATING to "roles", is a mere slip of the tongue, I would urge you to consult any "Trinitarian vs. Oneness" website that addresses the "roles vs. persons" concept and realize how fundamentally different these two views are. So now you attempt to RESTATE your description of the persons of the Trinity as HAVING roles, not BEING roles. Nope, you can't slip anything by me, Aineo. I want to know how can you have altered your theology within the space of a couple posts and expect others not to notice it? Yes - I "bought" into the Trinity at one point, until I realized "parts were missing". |
