ArchivedJudging & Testing God??Peace Alpha, I assumed you would have noticed that I was speaking in terms of Islam’s point of view. We believe that Jesus when he was sent as Messenger preached that there was only one God, and this is what the entire messenger of all the Prophets. However, you on the other hand would disagree with me. In response to that, I ask you did Jesus himself say “that I am God”, and “worship me”? If he didn’t, which is the case, then the Quran is correct in saying that. All that the Bible claims about Jesus are fabrication of men, and people have misused his message as time went one. There were people before the council of Nicea who did not believe that Jesus was God. Furthermore, Christians boast about 24,000 manuscripts, but did you know that no 2 are identical? So there are virtually, 24,000 different gospels. Then how do you come to know which one is “inspired” and which is fabricated. What was done by those earlier Christians was that they picked some and disregarded others, basing it on their own desires, not that God had instructed them to do so. I’m curious to know, what was written in those books for them to be rejected? Could it be because they claimed that Jesus was not God, and that there was only one God? I wonder. Comparing the Quran to the book of Mormons is just being silly. My religion, at least doesn’t claim that Jesus is “fully God and fully human”. At least my religion says that everyone is born in a pure state free from sin, while Christianity however preaches that were all born with a sin we did not even commit. You claim that book of Mormons says that each human being can be God. No offence, but do you not also call Jesus who was a human being God too? The Quran is the only book that was revealed by God that is in its original state. I know for a fact the Bible isn’t, or you wouldn’t be all running around with different versions. You don’t need the uncorrupted Torah and the Gospels, to know that the Quran is a revelation from God. What the Quran teaches, and the wisdom it gives to mankind, is evident that it from God. Unlike the Bible, where it tells stories, the Quran is only God’s word, and he is speaking to his creations. We acknowledge all the prophets, and give them their rightful positions as the greatest men, which the Bible denies them. The stories of the prophets are similar in both our scriptures, and the reason is because they all came from one source, God almighty. I believe that I already told you, that there could be the possibilities that there are remnants of the injil present in the Bible, but we do not say that the Bible in its entire form is the word of God. When Muslims look for prophecies in the Bible referring to Mohammad, it’s not because it’s for our own benefit. We try to use your Bible, to prove our point, which is that Muhammad was indeed the last prophet sent by God Almighty. I use these extracts of the Bible: "Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only." ( Act 11:19) "Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." (Matthew 10:5-6) “But he answered and said, 'I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel'. (Matthew 15:22-27) From an Islamic perspective, each prophet was only sent to their people. Some rejected them, others accepted them. Revelations also accompanied these prophets with the aid of God and the Angel Gabriel. These revelations were only meant for the people whom it was sent to, not for all mankind. The injil and the Torah are out dated books, and we could not possible use them today, because even though they contain the wisdom of God, they were only meant for those people and since times have changed, it cannot give us solutions that we need for this generation. The master copy of the Injil and the Torah, are with God, however, the injil and Torah which were given to the people is what was corrupted. Not that God Almighty is withholding the truth from us. I understand that I had used the word “original” but what I was meant to write was the master copy. Alpha, God knows how his creations are. He prohibits things because he knows our weaknesses. In Islam we are told not to go near the stuff altogether, leaving us no option but to stay away from it. When you give people that option, then the problems begin. Why? Because not everyone is strong willed to take a few drinks and leave it at that. When you’re at a function or at a pub, you’re not going to drink 2 cups and leave it that, especially when you see that everyone else is drinking. Abstinence, not indulgence, is the solution. Too much honey? Too much food? You call these solutions? Where definitely not on the same page! Unfermented grape juice? Come now Alpha, let’s at least be sensible. In John 2:1-15, when Jesus turns the water into wine, they have long night of drinking and then someone says “but you have saved the best till now." Indicating that it must have been a potent drink. If a person had too much to drink and you gave him grape juice, it would taste like mud water to him, because too much alcohol causes the senses to become weak. This w-i-n-e is the same w-i-n-e that Lot drank when he committed incest (I don’t believe that) with his daughters. There is no distinction. That was my point. The Bible therefore cannot be used for our times, because it still governing the people of old. In the time of our prophet, wine was also not a major problem, but because God knew the problem that was going to come out of it, He prohibited it. This is why I say that the Quran is meant till the end of times, because it deals with all our problems and rules had been set before the problem actually occurred. This is the wisdom of God. Are you serious? Have you even read the Quran? It seems not. Just because we share similar things does not mean the Quran did not say anything new. You claim Jesus was God; we say he is a prophet. You claim that Jesus had died; we say that he was saved. You claim some of the most horrible things about the greatest men of all time, we honour them. However, the message the Quran brings is essentially not different to all the revelations that were set down, but Islam, is not just a religion it’s a way of life. It has many laws that govern the country, which are called the Sahriah. And Allah knows best! Peace and Blessings be to the Believers |
