Jer 7:16-20
16 "As for you, do not pray for this people, and do not lift up cry or prayer for them, and do not intercede with Me; for I do not hear you. 17 "Do you not see what they are doing in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18 "The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out libations to other gods in order to spite Me. 19 "Do they spite Me?" declares the LORD. "Is it not themselves they spite, to their own shame?" 20 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, My anger and My wrath will be poured out on this place, on man and on beast and on the trees of the field and on the fruit of the ground; and it will burn and not be quenched." NAS
There is not and never has been a queen of heaven. As to what the Roman Catholic Church teaches about Mary, a careful reading of Luke will dispel any idea that Mary did not need a savior.
Luke 1:46-55
46 And Mary said:
"My soul exalts the Lord,
47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
48 "For He has had regard for the humble state of His bondslave;
For behold, from this time on all generations will count me blessed.
49 "For the Mighty One has done great things for me;
And holy is His name.
50 "And His mercy is upon generation after generation
Toward those who fear Him.
51 "He has done mighty deeds with His arm;
He has scattered those who were proud in the thoughts of their heart.
52 "He has brought down rulers from their thrones,
And has exalted those who were humble.
53 "He has filled the hungry with good things;
And sent away the rich empty-handed.
54 "He has given help to Israel His servant,
In remembrance of His mercy,
55 As He spoke to our fathers,
To Abraham and his offspring forever. " NAS
If, as the Catholic Church maintains Mary is without original sin and part of the Godhead why does she praise God as
her savior?
Mary, the mother of Jesus, is not mentioned in the Bible after Acts 1:14. Now if she is such an integral personage to Christianity why is this so? As to Catholics and the images they venerate, error has slipped into Judaism and Christianity throughout history. The Bible, not the Pope, is our authority and the Bible teaches us that images are for idol worship, not worship of the one true God.
