Got a second wind! Whew.
I'm curious -- I'm new to your site, and am plainly not a big fan of much of what I see here. I see many people posting references to biblical verses in support of the "homosexuality is a sin" argument/belief/tenet/etc.
Mostly I see Paul's letters, and some references to Leviticus.
Given that I'm pretty sure that the NT "trumps" the OT in terms of how to live as a Christian, I'll ask the question this way:
Do the Gospels, and in particular the sayings of Jesus himself, take precedence to this forums' readers over the rest of the New Testament? Or is it all equally co-valid?
The reason I ask is that my Christianity is mostly based on the Gospels, as I feel there are a lot of hateful things in the Letters that don't strike me as very "Jesus-like." My own impression is that Paul was a very opinionated but well-intentioned man who underwent a SERIOUS (capitals intended) life change when he found Christ and spent the rest of his life struggling to recover from Saul the Lawyer mode. So some of the things he says to sway people over I think cross the line from what Jesus would say or recommend.
