The Quran says he is alive as well.. though sura 4:157 might say that someone else died in Jesus' place on the cross, this is not the case in Surah 3:55 which states
(and remember), when Allah said: O Jesus! Lo! I am gathering thee and causing thee to ascend unto Me, and am clensing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me ye will all return, and I shall judge between you as to that wherein you differ."
According to the Quran Jesus died and rose again and is now ascended to be with Allah. All who follow Jesus are set above those who disbelieve.
Even the Quran at this point attests to the Lordship of Christ and the place of those who believe in Him.. and when will this stop happening? It wasn't when the Quran was given or Islam was restored.. it was to be "UNTIL THE DAY OF RESURRECTION".
Doesn't all this sound familiar to the post that Alpha sent referring to where the Bible says Jesus is now seated?
Hebrews 12:2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and the perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him, endured the cross, scorning it's shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
and Revelation 11:18
".. the time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverance your name both small and great..."
Remember too lord_of_da_rings.. though the Bible is the Word of God written.. Jesus Christ is the Word of God come in the flesh. Even the Quran gives Him that title. So yes, he could say he died for your sins and still be very much alive since the Word of God CANNOT ever pass away, it stands forever (Psalm 119:89), Isaiah 40:8
What do you say lord_of_da_rings? I'm interested in your response
