ArchivedSome Gays Distort the Meaning of Biblical VersesAlpha wrote:Have you noticed how so many Christians want to ignore this? Notice the deeds of the flesh include "strife, outbursts of anger, disputes, and factions". When homosexuality is discussed on Christian boards you will find more deeds of the flesh than fruit of the Spirit.
Again, you are right on these things, all of us are sinners. But the only difference is, eventhough I might sometimes do the deeds of the flesh, I know it is wrong and I repent. But you have some homosexuals not willing to repent and they will not admitt that they're living a lifestyle of sin. If we took everything that you are saying and apply it to life, then what's the point of having preachers if they are sinners anyway? You make it seem like the "speck in your eye" verse is towards anyone who preaches against sin.
What is the use of having preachers? Surely you jest! Preachers fill pulpits of churches and are to instruct, admonish, correct, and encourage their congregation not set themselves up as the judges of the unsaved (1 Cor 5:9-13)
1 Cor 9:19-23
19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, that I might win the more. 20 And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the Law, as under the Law, though not being myself under the Law, that I might win those who are under the Law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, that I might win those who are without law. 22 To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some. 23 And I do all things for the sake of the gospel, that I may become a fellow partaker of it.
