Apologetics Forum: Ask questions about Christianity/Debate doctrinesChrist onlyThere is a growing movement in Christianity which says that the words of Jesus are the only ones to be followed. The proponets argue: Why should we follow the words of anyone besides Jesus? Are his words not sufficient? Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the light noone comes to the Father except through me," not "except through me, or some of theses other guys" (many of whom never even met Jesus). Are we christians or churchians? Do we follow Jesus or the Bible? They would say that the rest of the bible at times contradicts Jesus, and that the other writers of the bible gave commands that where extra to those of Jesus. I'd love to here some responses about what people agree and disagree with this (for more on some of these ideas, you can check out www.theophile.us www.jesuswordsonly.com and www.discipleship.net). |
